As a coach and a former athlete, I can tell you that mental training is just as important, if not more important, than physical training. I would say that ⅔ of my fighting career (as a grown-up)was focused on the physical aspect, without giving much thought to my mental development. I had some guidance from my former trainers, but I was missing some specific tools to work on my mindset.

It wasn’t until I faced some challenges in my personal life 12 years ago that I realized I needed help to move forward. So, I began gathering knowledge about possible solutions, and I found myself immersed in the world of personal development. I read countless books and tried various tools, some of which were incredibly helpful, while others only helped a little. But each and every one of them played a part in bringing me to where I am today.

For me, the goal of these tools always boils down to one thing: BEing. No matter what challenges or tasks I was facing, it was always about being focused, confident, resilient, calm, determined, present, mad, scared, pressured and so on. Everything goes back to BEing.

As a kickboxer, a coach and a career consultant, I know firsthand how much of a difference mental training can make in a people’s performance. It’s not just about being physically fit and strong, but also about having a well-trained mindset. That’s why I make sure to incorporate mental training into my coaching regimen.

Whether you’re an athlete or just someone facing challenges in your daily life, I encourage you to prioritize your mental development. It can make all the difference in your performance, your relationships, and your overall well-being. So, take some time to invest in yourself and build your own toolbox of mental training tools. Who knows, it might just be the missing piece that propels you to the next level.

As someone who has personally experienced the power of mental training, I’m excited to share these tools with you and help you take your performance and well-being to the next level. Stay tuned for upcoming articles where I’ll explore these tools in more detail and provide practical tips for incorporating them into your daily routine.
